Refined Definition: What Is Hardfacing Flux Cored Wire?
Hardfacing flux-cored welding wire is a functional welding wire designed specifically for surface enhancement.
Unlike carbon steel or low-alloy flux-cored wires used for structural welding, the core purpose of hardfacing wire is singular:
To provide metal surfaces with high wear resistance, impact resistance, or high-temperature resistance, thereby extending equipment service life.
It consists of a metal sheath filled with alloying powder formulated for specific performance. During welding, it deposits a high-hardness, highly wear-resistant overlay layer onto the substrate.
The flux-cored powder formulation can be adjusted according to customer requirements by varying the proportions of C, Cr, Nb, Mo, and W.
